The Setting for this installation is a high mountain private resort in the Northern Rockies. In order to appreciate the million dollar views, homeowners require the absolute best combination of energy efficiency and expansive view.
The Challenges
This was a very steep home site that demanded non-standard installation techniques. Looking towards future jobs; we made the decision to acquire a specialized installation crane.
The start date was pushed back due to typical construction delays. Starting a job of this magnitude in November above 8,000 feet in the Northern Rocky mountains is risky at best, but our customers were counting on us. Despite extended periods of extreme cold, (nighttime temps near -40 and daytime rarely rising above zero) Simkins Hallin managed to complete the installation and help maintain the remainder of the building schedule.
This job also required extensive re-finishing of all interior wood surfaces, something that we accomplished on-site and met the customer’s satisfaction.
